MAJOR LAUNCHES IN THE COMING MONTHS
All these dates are to be taken with tweezers. How did we determine them? Taking into account the rumours as well as the release dates of previous models. There are also confirmed events.

We don’t have the same level of information on the different devices, so we’ve only grouped some of the expected smartphones into this file.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S20

The launch of Samsung’s new flagship is an event every year. In 2020, the manufacturer could change the numbering and switch directly from the Galaxy S10 (2019) to the Galaxy S20!

The range would consist of three models: the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S20+ and the Galaxy S20 Ultra. It will be unveiled on February 11 at the Samsung Unpacked conference.

Thanks to leaks and rumours, we already know a lot about these smartphones, including a 120 Hz display, a new ultrasonic sensor, a photo module with 8K video and 108 or 64 MP sensor, and very large batteries.

SAMSUNG GALAXY FLIP Z

On 11 February 2020, Samsung is expected to unveil a new foldable smartphone in addition to its flagship Galaxy S20.

This would be the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip which would offer a vertically foldable screen, reminiscent of the era of clapping phones.

OPPO FIND X2

With Huawei’s debacle on the Western market, Oppo has a real chance with the BBK Electronics group to take over the torch and represent Chinese technological excellence on the upscale.

The brand is preparing the launch of the Find X2 for the beginning of 2020, with a likely presentation at the Mobile World Congress.

Oppo promises that its Find X2 will integrate the Snapdragon 865 chip from Qualcomm, with a high-frequency display (probably 120 Hz) and a new Sony photosensor.

Nice promises that could make it one of the smartphones of the year.

HUAWEI MATE XS

After its setbacks in 2019, Huawei does not throw in the towel and intends to mark the year 2020. First with its new foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate XS which will offer a revised and corrected copy of the Mate X.

We had confirmation that the smartphone would be launched in early 2020, and probably at the Mobile World Congress in February.

HUAWEI P40 AND P40 PRO

Although the brand cannot offer the Google Play Store with its devices, Huawei continues to work on its next flagships. The manufacturer is preparing to launch the P40 and P40 Pro for the end of March, his boss Richard Yu announced it in an interview.

This smartphone would integrate the new Kirin 990 chip already seen in the Mate 30 Pro, a borderless screen with a hole for two photosensors in the front, and a three-sensor photo module in the back.

It remains to be seen how this smartphone will be marketed in France and Europe if it still does not have access to Google services.

SONY XPERIA 5 PLUS

Sony usually announces its new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. This year, leaks show a new smartphone with a particularly attractive design.

Known as the Xperia 5 Plus, this smartphone would have the right to a flat and notched borderless screen, a well-marked frame, and a brand new photo module.

APPLE IPHONE 9

The most interesting smartphone launched by Google in 2019 was not the Pixel 4 or the Pixel 4 XL, but the Pixel 3 a. For less than 400 euros, this smartphone offered one of the best cameras on the market in all ranges, good finishes and autonomy.

We, therefore, look forward to the Pixel 4a, whose design we already know, and which we imagine should be unveiled at the beginning of the year. Bad news for fans of big models, Google would miss the Pixel 4 an XL this year.

ONEPLUS 8 AND ONEPLUS 8 LITE

The launch of each Oneplus smartphone is an event. It must be said that the brand knows how to be satisfied with two launches a year when its competitors multiply announcements throughout the year.

The Oneplus 8 would pick up where the Oneplus 7T stopped by first betting on a high-frequency display of very high quality, and very good performance with the Snapdragon 865 chip.

The most interesting could be the Oneplus 8 «Lite». According to Onleaks, the brand would indeed prepare to return to the middle of the range with a much more affordable device.

MOTOROLA RAZR

The Motorola RAZR is the brand’s first foldable smartphone. It was announced in November 2019, but its launch is scheduled for 2020.

We were able to take in hand the device which offers a rather original design with its folding to make the smartphone more compact in the pocket.

With its only photosensor and its Snapdragon 710, it will, however, have a lot to deal with other brands.

APPLE IPHONE 12

Forget the iPhone 11S, Apple would go straight from iPhone 11 to iPhone 12 in 2020. As usual, this new smartphone will be unveiled in September 2020.

The new iPhone would integrate a screen at 120 Hz and could be declined in three models.

MICROSOFT SURFACE DUO

The Microsoft Surface Duo announcement was one of the big surprises of 2019. With this product, the brand goes against the grain by announcing a foldable product with two screens, rather than a foldable smartphone.

Most importantly, the Surface Duo runs on Android with the Google Play Store and has everything from a smartphone. This marks the return of Microsoft to this market after the failure of Windows Mobile.
